Editing video feedback and learner response

 1) Type up your feedback/comments from your teacher.

WWW-good use of planning, use of fade shots, shot reverse shot, sound effects which creates tension, range of camera angles, using 180 degree rule, pov shot

EBI-missed oppotunity for match on action, audio levels

2) Type up your feedback from fellow students.

www-good planning of shotlist, use of props, use of fade in and out, range of camera angles

EBI-missed match on action,ambient noise

3) Now reflect on your video. Did you meet the brief and successfully include the three key editing aspects we have learned?

I believe I had met the brief to an extent. This is because i stuck to a
shot reverse shot and the 180 degree rule. However I missed the oppotunity to be able to use a match on action which would have made my clip much better.Next time i will make sure to use a match on action in my clip because i believe that it will make editing much more smoother.

4) What were the strengths and weaknesses of your final film? Write a detailed analysis picking out specific shots, edits and any other aspect of film language you think is relevant.

Strengths:
-use of fade in and out:This is because i believe at times this had created suspense within my film which leads to the creation of enigma and action codes.Furthermore it allowed my editing to be much more smoother and for there not to be any jump cuts because a fade smoothens it out.
-pov shot-In my opinion i believed it tied my film together as the audience was able to see my props in clear detail
-180 degree rule-Sticking to it was very easy and helped display my OTS shots much more

Weaknesses:
-match on action-I had failed to do a match on action which really brang down my film clip making it mot as good as it could have been.
-ambient noise-I had left background noise within my clip which decreased the quality it could of had because at some point we could not hear the characters voices.

5) Learner response: what aspect of editing did you find most difficult? What have you learned from this process that will help you when you start the actual coursework later this year?

In my opinion the hardest part of editing my clip would be the noise levels. This is because in most of my video clips they always contain ambient noise and i do not know how to get rid of it.Furthermore i found it slightly hard to create a match on action due to not cutting my clips correctly.I have learnt a lot of things in my editing practical task from my peers such as:

-how to do a march on action
-how to perfectly cut a clip at the correct time
-getting rid of ambient noise
-types of sound effects to use in my clips
-how to increase/decrease pace

In my coursework I will be including these things in order to achieve the goal of an A* in A level media!
